We believe in providing homeowner with the best building products on the market. Thus, our outdoor play homes are built with wood framing, pressurized wood bases, and exterior walls constructed from PVC “lumber.” This solid composite material is resistant to weather, warping, rotting and corrosion, and it is impervious to insects. Because it does not expand or contract as much as traditional wood, paint adheres to it better, making it more durable. This high-performance material has great woodworking properties which allow it to be routed, cut and shaped, enabling us to use it to create beautiful and detailed designs. The windows are aluminum framed, and feature plexi-glass acrylic, not glass.
The sizes of all playhouses can be increased. However, because of construction, shipping and installation limitations, we prefer not to build any part over 8′ long. It is not unusual for any standard 6’x 8′ house to be increased to 8’x 8′. Any additional size requirements can be met by adding an additional “room”. (Similar to the floor plan of the Cotton Candy Manor).Lilliput can also increase the height of your playhouse with the 8” height increase offered. This option raises the house by 8” from its base, which also increases the door height of the house.
Lilliput offers a number of features which can be used to customize your playhouse. These include, electricity, air-conditioning, faux fireplaces, kitchens of various shapes and sizes, faux fireplaces, mailboxes and window boxes, Depending upon the model, the playhouse may also accommodate the addition of a slide, swings, and/or an activity tower.
All municipalities have different ordinances regarding backyard structures. Because the houses are not anchored to the ground and can be disassembled and moved at any time, most municipalities view the houses as a temporary structure not requiring a building permit. However, we recommend checking with your local building inspector and homeowner’s association before installation.
A concrete foundation ensures a level base for the playhouse, but it is not necessary to pour a foundation for your playhouse. At installation concrete blocks are used to raise the playhouse slightly off the ground and to level it.
Yes, Lilliput employees full-time experienced professional installers who are able to install your playhouse and ensure that it is received and constructed properly on-site.
